RedM
1. This only happens in the following situation and at no other time. When I've been driving in a spirited fashion on t'motorway, if I pull off and have to stop at a Mway junction the engine drops below 500 rpm, stutters then settles back to a perfectly smooth idle. Only the tird time ever that this has happened. Is it anything to do with braking? I'm wondering if the ABS cause a power drop when braking heavily. 2. Idle problem. Happened once today and once last saturday (odd huh?). When I've left the car for less than an hour and go back to it. It starts up funny. It kind of kicks into life but then the idle goes lumpy and the revs drop a tad below 500 rpm. If I blip the throttle it goes away. Any thoughts? RobSheffield
run a fault code check, see if it throws anything up, if it does, rectify them, reset the ECU, drive for a week or so, and check codes again if it doesnt, then, erm, reset the ECU anyway
Steve W
We get number "ONE" occasionally It sort of stutters and you THINK it's a gonna stall (?) but it never does ?? It MAY be the blood Idle Air Control Valve ? But i've been too lazy to clean it:innocent:

supRo
I've had number 1 a few times too - with normal driving/parking and pressing the brakes - This was due to grounding. Try cleaning up your battery terminals

RobSheffield
You at Squires on Tuesday? Could be raining though? Or I could have a trip down t'M1 forgot squires, but ill attempt to make an effort. if not, make t'trip down t'M1, and ill have a cuppa waiting while i sort your car out ill also try to show you the ECU in its native habitat although you dont actually need to get to the ECU to reset it, just remove the negative lead to the battery or pull the 2 fuses. but dont do it til i see ya, we can try the fault codes then saying all this, im only a phone call away if required.
