I just still don't understand though. Surely the letter says what the police are intending to do. If it says "driving without due car and attention" then you need to go and look up the standard penalty for that. Hopefully it won't be three points, but it'll quite likely be a £60, just hopefully not with points as well.

but i could get away without any points by saying the animal bullshit

Potentially. If you come across well, but consider that there's an element of coincidence what with there being a copper right there too. It's obvious that you were actually speeding and shat straight onto the brakes when you saw the copper.

I was in court the other day and public speaking isn't my thing. I'm ok after about 3 minutes, but at first it's hot sweats, and this time my mouth went so dry my tongue was sticking too. I don't think that helped my case, as I also had an 'excuse'. I was found guilty but the penalty was reasonable.

basically will that mean i can lose my job? due to having three points

erm, I shouldn't think so. Most people have points on their licenses. 34mph in a 30zone will get you three penalty points.

You could lose your license if you amount 12 points, under the 'totting up scheme'.

If your employer had a policy of sacking staff who get three points on their license I think they'd be in serious trouble for unlawful dismissal.
