ellis
Aston V8 (the new one) - you'd never tire of hearing that engine or of looking at it.
Tee from China
Reading this thread made me think - Supra Owners Club site and no one has mentioned a Supra of any description - bit like going on a Ford owners site and choosing another make and model, or am I missing the point here? i.e:- Supra - easy to drive, very tunable, a hatchback and an almost four seater - what more do you need ???? Just a thought !!
Gaz6002
I would pick this:- http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=15282 (if it goes ahead with the 4WD of course. If not then Z-tune skyline all the way)
matt k
I'm still struggling to make a choice but the leader so far is the McLaren F1 LM - 3 seats (if I put the other 2 back in), luggage / shopping space and not too shabby to drive either The best car ever built, and always will be! michael
The more I read about the Veyron the more I want one - not for the silly power (although I won't grumble) but more for the fact that it's such an easy car to drive and could be used every day. http://www.bugatti-configurator.com/bugatti_en.html White Silver / Grey Silver with Anthracite / Azzurro interior if anyone generous is reading
imi
You are allowed to choose any car you like but it's the last car you'll ever own, it's the one you'll have until you die, you are unable to drive anything else at all - what would you choose? 1) If I was a selfish bastid - Mclaren F1 2) family + kids = new M5
imi
Veyron because it's probably never gonna be bettered uhem - Mclaren F1
Darren-K
the veyron hammers the mclaren F1 imi http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,26789-2056987,00.html http://www.racingflix.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2511&PN=1&TPN=
Simon
Mitsubishi Delica, can sleep in it, can carry my zimmer frame and the wifes , even room for a motoried chair, can go off road, can run of veg oil, which means no house, no fixed abode and no taxes. Guess that would make me a pikey then .
RedM
I'm with Michael. I've not been too keen on the Veyron (and I'm still not sure how well it handles bends) but after looking at that site I want one. If only to have a 'high speed key'! geoffvalenti
'69 Hemi Dodge Charger Daytona It was the first of the race cars on the street breed of cars. It's ostentatious, but practical (4 seats and a boot) and it sounds like to die for
mwilkinson
Just thought I should mention that the Veryon is no longer the fastest road car in the world, or at least soon wont be. Anyone heard of the Barabus TKR. Specs 0-60mph - 1.67secs Top Speed - 270mph Plant - 1005bhp 6litre V8 TT Price - £360,000 Goes into production soon and they intend to make 300 to 400 units, with many parts being made in the UK. Theres some stuff on this page: http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/07/21/barabus-tkr-takes-over-as-worlds-fastest-car/ Not saying I like it and god knows if it will really live up to the claims, but they have made one so you would assume they have tested the car and are able to substantiate the claims. Cheaper and faster than the Veryon!!!
RedM
Cheaper and faster than the Veryon!!! ...and so damn fugly that even Max Power thought it was shite. It's like spot the styling cues. I'd buy the Veyron over that without even thinking.
michael
I'm with Michael. I've not been too keen on the Veyron (and I'm still not sure how well it handles bends) but after looking at that site I want one. If only to have a 'high speed key'! The Veyron handles really, really well - especially given it's power and weight - the only grumble people seem to have is that it doesn't involve the driver enough. Alex
I'd like to change my option.. 599GTB (without kids (most likely) Brabus Rocket (CLS on steriods) (with kids)
michael
"with kids" Do Brabus offer them as an option then?
Tricky-Ricky
Several factors to consider here. 1) When I'm old I won't be able to afford the fuel/insurance 2) When I'm old there won't be any fuel 3) That probably means requiring a Fuel Cell type powered car 4) There's not many to choose from. A few more than that! 1) if you go for Bugatti, Aston, Ferrari etc, 3-5,000 mls befor a service that will cost £5,000+ 2) if you don't kill yourself or loose your licence through speeding first! 3) if you can still get in it when your old;) 4) there is always going to be something new and better coming out:p
MrHanky
This realy is a difficult one. The Zonda and Maclaren F1 are both brilliant but I really love the Koenigsegg CCX. On the other hand I really like the Merceded CLK DTM and Skyline 400R and both of these are quite practical. Just been looking at a few pictures and the Koenigsegg CCX would be my choice, sod everything else enjoy the present Mark
