DamanC
Silly question but what options do i have in order to fit an HKS SSQV BOV? Can i simply replace the stock bov? or do i have to get a universal mounting pipe? pics would be grand too
Nic
HKS do a specific kit for the Supra which locates the SSQV in place of the stock BOV, the kit includes everything needed and is relatively easy to fit yourself. Here's a pic, pm me if you want price/details.
Ian R
Nic can you just order the kit on its own ??
Nic
Nic can you just order the kit on its own ?? Ian, do you mean just the fitting kit without the BOV? No they're not sold separately, you can buy a universal SSQV BOV without the fitting kit.

Guest Carsten
Is there also a thread on how to install it withoug the kit? Do i need to remove / replace / bypass the stock one?

Guest Carsten
Okay. I found out where to fit the bov. http://mkiv.com/techarticles/bov/dscn1550.jpg But now ive one problem: HOW. Someone got the manual or something? I´ve the BOV, a flange, a o-ring and an odd metal clamp. Looks a bit like this kit: http://www.jayracing.com/images/products/BV-DH1_1.jpg

Looks a bit like this kit: http://www.jayracing.com/images/products/BV-DH1_1.jpg Thats the universal kit bud, that needs to be welded on. You need the supra specific kit to fit it in place of the stock BOV.
Terminator
The is also a part that allows connection to a hose.
Guest Carsten
Yep its unversal. But i dont need to weld it There is a way to connect the hose directly to the BOV. But i dont exactly know how.
Scott
i'm going to disagree. The bottom flange is interchangeable. You have the weld on flange, as in universal, you need the hose adapter flange which is what comes with the supra specific kit.
mikeyb10supra
Yep its unversal. But i dont need to weld it yes you do. It will go on one of your intercooler pipes
Guest Carsten
Why? I can build a connector to connect the hose with the bov. That should also work.
Scott
yeah but that would then be a specific kit wouldn't it? If you are building a hose coupler onto it how do you plan on attaching it without welding? Would be far easier to just buy the proper kit and be done with it. You might get lucky with someone who has changed to a single tubby though.
