Will bigger wheels give you better 1/4trs and top speeds?

Yeah a larger tyre wall allows the initial start motion of the wheel to transfer the rim rotation to the tread rotation. It provides more area to flex and transmit the force to the ground in a less sudden manner.

Proper top fuel dragsters use massively flexing tyre walls to perform the above.

 

Otherwise to get more grip you lower the tyre pressure to give a larger contact patch with the ground.

Usually larger rims won't make much difference if they are more or less the same weight - rolling radius stays nearly the same.

The commentator guy was mentioning about 4.5 to 5 psi for the

dragster tyres.
