Letter from police about my old Volvo

As some of you may remember I took my old Volvo to be scrapped on 10th Feb. Read all about it HERE

I got a letter this morning from the police saying that it (and by extension, me) had driven off without paying for petrol.

£20.13 worth at 13:05 on the 21st. Now, I know I need to multitask at my job but even I'd have had difficulty nicking fuel from my desk a good 15-20 miles away.

Best bit is that I also received today a letter from the DVLA confirming that they had received the form stating I was not the owner anymore. Even better it was dated from the day before the incident. Been down to the cop shop and passed on the info. They'll be contacting the guy who was dismantling it.

However, I phoned him to ask WTF was going on and he said he couldn't remember the car and didn't know who had it now. Apparently they don't always dismantle them. I reckon he's sold it on and some pikey c*nt who is hooning about in it. Maybe he'll be more co-operative now I've given his details to the police.

Meanwhile, if anyone sees a blue Volvo 440 reg K721 RAG in the Wakefield area can you call the cops? I want this stopped asap and there is also the distinct possibility of the car having no MOT (it ran out the day after I got rid of it) and who knows what else.

The police didn't seem too bothered TBH. Went 'out the back' to look at the DVLA letter etc and came back asking me to fill in the police letter with the details of the scrap place.

I've asked them to contact me when they have any news. I won't hold my breath.

Feeling somewhat unsettled, I rang the local police about five mins ago and they, to my amazement, not only told me that the car was not registered to me (like, duh!) but they had already seized it and it was sat in one of their compounds.

I've cracked open a beer. Phew!
