Adam
Was wondering how much everyone has paid to have their soops de catted. And if i was to have it done. Would it effect the MOT when it goes in. My soop is k reg. Would i get away with it or will they pick up on it
Steviekid
Double de-cat pipes range from about £230 to £320 (from Envy, Chris Wilson etc). The car won't pass the MOT with both cats out unless you're pals with the tester but they usually come in two bits and it's fairly easy to stick the second cat back in which should be enough to get through it. Adam
Trouble is its quiet difficult to get underneath the engine to fit it every time. Can i get one cat off but leave the other one on purly for the mot tester

Think it's the first cat that's more restrictive so get that one out if you just do the one.

letmeshowyou
adam your car is N/A isnt it? remove the first cat - wouldn't bother removing the second. Just isn't worth the aggro!

SupraStar 3000
adam your car is N/A isnt it? remove the first cat - wouldn't bother removing the second. Just isn't worth the aggro! I thought it wasn't worth doing just "one" cat on a NA soop? Performance was only noticable after both! And regulations didn't apply to import 93 cars anyway! Any know for sure! lockys96
its before 1992 you dont need a cat. its illegal not to have one, ive never been sure on the law on imports. surely if you can still pass exhaust emissions it should be ok, wheres the written law on this. but with the police doing road side exhaust testing? hmmmm
