Syed Shah
a) Usually, but does not HAVE to be this way (v.complex with diff size turbos tho). Diff sizes used for fancy things like oddball sequentials and compound setups. b) Yes, same size.
penguin
syed, on a stock setup, you won't have diffrent sized turbos ....... would you?
Syed Shah
a) Yes, usually, but not always. Diff sizes is v complex to plumb, but has been done in oddball sequential setups, or more commonly for compound turbo setups. b) Yes, same size. mikeb
BMW 3.0l turbo diesel (535d) has a sequential set up with different sized turbos. Perhaps it doesn't count through - being a diesel and all...
Syed Shah
Alex, pretty sure they are same size, but sure somebody can confirm eirther way. Mike, that is news to me!
Soonto_HAS_soop
BMW 3.0l turbo diesel (535d) has a sequential set up with different sized turbos. Perhaps it doesn't count through - being a diesel and all... This is ture, the new turbo dervs have an ickle first turbo, then a second larger one. But they are plumbed so that the little one gives up and is routed off IIRC.
JohnA
lol well this guy at work who has "owned over 20 300zx's" insists they all had "smaller first turbo, and then big second turbo" ..... Maybe the ones he 'owned' all had two small turbos. It's a V6 and has one on each bank. They HAVE to be the same in that design.
