Gamer
I am in the process of putting on the facelift rear lights but have a small problem. The bulbs and bulb holders (part that twists into the rear housing) are too big. What do I need to get/do to make them work ? On the same subject of facelifts, my front headlights are in but the fog light connector is different (triangular) to the facelift connector. What needs to be done in this case ? francis
Hmmm sounds like you might need new looms with bulb connectors. When I swapped for facelift lights the loom with lights was already there so it was simply a case of disconnecting the old ones at a large connector lower down and plugging in the new ones. Joe Joe, it sounds like you're trying to fit the pre-facelift rear harness/bulbs in the facelift rear lights, as you have found they are not compatible. Did you not get new harness and bulbs with your new facelift rears? You will definitely need them. The price I gave you for the rear lights, included all new bulbs and harnesses The new harnesses/bulbs will plug straight onto the wiring loom. Nic
Hi Nic, I mean can you buy the face lift rear lenses seperatly. I don't neet the harness. Paul. Hi Paul, if you mean the rear light housing itself (not individual lenses inside), yes you can buy these separately. This sounds like what you bought Joe. The part numbers for just the housing are: RH Facelift Rear Light Housng (no bulbs, fittings and harnesses) 81551-14700 LH Facelift Rear Light Housing (no bulbs, fittings and harnesses) 81561-14700 If anyone wants to upgrade to the facelift rear lights, make sure you order the whole rear light assembly, including all bulbs, fixings and harnesses, part numbers for these are: RH Facelift Rear Light Complete Assembly 81550-14700 LH Facelift Rear Light Complete Assembly 81560-14700
Lazarus
Joe, don't know if you've done any searches for info on the rear light mod but I did mine a couple of years ago and found some info on a potential problem with the lamp failure warning system due to the facelifts running a different wattage bulb, you may or may not have a problem, just thought I'd bring it to your attention. Info here... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=28114&highlight=facelift+rear+lights+wattage
