RedM
Brief history: Rollins used to sing for legnedary US hardcore band, Black Flag. When they split he embarked on a solo project and also poetry readings. The poetry side ended up taking a backseat to his ramblings about life on the road and his life experiences. Now he talks for 2-3 hours (once saw him do nearly 4) and he covers all sorts of topics and is actually just like a stand-up comic these days. Ark
I saw one his spoken word shows on tv - very good watching actually. He's _very_ emotive isn't he! See if you can find it - it's well worth it.
Bobbeh
I used to listen to him when he was a Rocker many years ago, not interested in his spoken word shows tbh.

Talking from the Box was the first of many. Shock and Awe is the latest and is very good. His spoken word cd's are hysterical too. Think Tank and A Rollins in the Rye are very funny. Me and the missus are obsessives so have all the cd's, dvds and bootlegs.
Mike
think I need to check them out.... I seemed to have stopped buying any Rollins stuff after 'Weight' - the Rollins Band album... which was good, don't get me wrong... didn't stop for any particular reason.. I used to love 'End of Silence', but I've kind of listened to it too much now...! Always wanted the cover of that as a tattoo... even though I've never had any tattoos....?! strangely.....
