Over Boost Again

for some reason the no. 1 turbo is boosting at 0.8, which if i remeber correctly from reading posts before is max. this is having a double effect on the boost cause when no 2 comes in it hits 1.3 with the controller set to OFF. with the effects of the controller when on the boost hits 1.5 then the FCD cuts the fuel.

i've had a few probs of late with air getting into the vacuum system, broken condenser, broken Turbo Pressure Sensor and a gasket wasn't on right and was letting air in.

Now having thought i'd got all the probs the cars doing this to me,

please help

Have you got both cats out?- + performace exhaust- if yes then you will need a restrictor ring in the exhaust to control the boost. Dont drive arround at 1.3bar. 1.2bar at the very most-take it easy untill you get it sorted. If both cats are out then there is no need for a controller to raise the boost as the boost rises on its own coz of the reduced back pressure.

both cats out, restrictor ring in. the restrictor ring was 'working' to keep it down to about 1bar. however since putting a proper 3" at the front rather than the 2" at the turbo end for about 3 inches before going into 3@ pipe for the rest of the system.

thing is how can i tell if the wastegate has had it? is it possible to 'upgrade' the jspec wastegate to a uk spec one?

not easy, the UKSpec one is 10mm larger in diameter and it can totally control boost even if fully decatted and you've got a 3" downpipe.

Just fit the ring and get on with it, it's not a big deal in the large scheme of things.

Overspeeding the ceramic turbos is much more serious.

i really dont know anything about the wastegate system but is it not the pressure or lack of it that is stopping the wastegate working, and so therefore is it not the actuator end, connected to the vacuum system, that needs to be 'upgraded' to take more or less pressure to work.
