edd_t
"A suburban American Family is being stalked by a group of psychotic people who live in the desert, far away from civilization" aha like most other american horror films these days. just swap 'desert' for red neck country, forests, lakes! the possibilities are endless... RedM
Shouldn't it be Goldfishfinger starring Jame Pond? How about The Codfather or Sole man or 10 Rillington Plaice

michael
The trailer was just on TV - sounds as though it's "nuclear tests conducted in the desert but a mining family refuse to move, they mutate and it sends them loopy" - it's years since I've seen the original but I remember it being reasonable enough. outatime
Great, another pointless horror remake that will no doubt totally miss the point of the original. Substitute atmosphere and menacing undertones with with loud 'nu metal' music and comic book gore. That'll work.
Tom S
bit like Wolf Creek I suppose, I remember the original, but why re-make!! is it all they can do !!

paulfurn
"A suburban American Family is being stalked by a group of psychotic people who live in the desert, far away from civilization" Sounds like something George W Bush would say in his state of the union address, with regards to Americans going to Iraq. I agree though... no new ideas these days.... I do love all those old seventies video nasties... Chainsaw Massacre etc. Was 'Hills have Eyes' the one were he bit the head off a bird or something? vaguely remember....?

Ark
Shaun of the Dead is as close as I get to horror films. I did watch final destination on tv the other day, but that's not horror, more humour.

I did watch final destination on tv the other day, but that's not horror, more humour. I thought they were nasty... I like me horror, but some of the stuff out these days is just sadistic.... was it FD2? with the car crash thing at the start... horrible.. terribleturner
Remakes get a hard time as they are put up against the originals and not other films from the same genre. When you watch them you have to tottally forget about the first time round and decided what it's like on it's own merits. Im looking forward to seeing this and The Fog as i liked both the originals and am expecting something good from these too
