ardasaliah
Just doing some basic routine testing- anyone got a tip on how I can pressure test the intercooler and its pipe work. Gonna block off one end with a tin of beans but need a way to attach a tyre valve to the other end. Some sort a home made fabricated thingy is what i am after really-to also block off the other end but have a tyre valve that I can attach an electric pump to. paul mac
be very carefull here mate i did a pressure test on mine when i built it, i put it in the bath (full of water) and the cap on the blanked end blew off at 1 bar and the wife thought i'de blown the house up, however you do it dont stand in front of your "bodged" ends, a tin of beans in the head would probably knock you into next week:D
Alex
Drive into the nearest lake and look for bubbles coming from the front. Think that should do it

merckx
I'll tell you exactly how to do it, I did mine recently. Buy a motorbike inner tube like this, I got one from this seller. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/21-inner-tube-motocross-crf-kx-ktm-sx-yz-rm-rmz-yzf-cr_W0QQitemZ8020102175QQcategoryZ21669QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Cut it through so you've got one long tube with the valve in the middle. Slip each end over the places you've indicated, clamp it down and then inflate a little. With the rubber tube rigid you have to wrap it totally without any gaps with duct tape. Two layers is better. You can now pump it up to 1.2 bar. Failure to wrap it with tape properly will result in it bursting with a loud bang! ( I know from my first attempt) You can just test the pressure with a gauge to see if it maintains it. Need4Speed
Full throttle and listen for hiss accompanied by less boost than you'd expect.
