Guest spr
Hello, some of you may remember my last thread about how I destroyed my silver auto SZ. I decided to start fresh and purchased another silver auto SZ. Although the car is in all round better condition than my last one, there are still a few bits I need to get sorted. Problem #1 Drivers side window is not working. I've been told that I need the "reg and motor assembly" how much is this? Has any one on here got one for sale? Problem #2 My dash has developed a long split along where it meets the windscreen demister outlet. This must be a common fault! Any help would be appreciated. Problem #3 How would one remove these hideous things? I dont want a Soop with a mustache. Ok, thats enough questions from me for today. Here are some pics of the car. I plan on getting a full re-spray (same colour) and face lift lights.

terribleturner
Sorry, is that mileage correct?? Think you can use a hairdryer to remove the stickers but may see if anyone agrees before attempting it, just incase
Steve W
Problem 2.... IF that's the bit of 'soft' dash that's lifted or 'bloomed' up slightly so that it shows the 'sponge' from outside the screen.... ...then YES ! Have it slightly on our N/A, but had it quite bad on my old TT. Cheated on the TT and coloured the orange sponge with a black permanent marker:taped: AND, will probably do exactly the same with the N/A Yours, FatS-lazy. Homer
Agree with Steve, problem 2 is fairly common on the older Supra's. Good idea on the permanent marker - didn't think of that!!

Guest Mad Russ
Sorry to hear about the old one hope you have better luck with this one! To remove your graffics your best bet is to heat them up so as to soften the adhesive but be carefull not to heat up to much or you will burn the paint which can only be fixed by a bodyshop As for the dash I would try what Steve W said. There are companys that can repair dash's but they will need to remove it because of where it is so it won't be cheep. If they can't repair it then it would need to be replaced Have you still got the old one? You can always get the door reg from that (If it survived) + I could be interested in the engine hint hint
VIL
When I worked for Mercedes we used to de-badge the vehicles by puring hot water over them to heat up the adhesive. Works on most decals and wont damage the paintwork. I would also do it sooner rather than later, those decals look Shite!
Pete
I'm guessing problem two occurs when fitting a new screen? Either that or it's heat related from the sun and warps. It is common though.
Guest spr
how much are u paying for it I paid £2750.00 from auction. Sorry, is that mileage correct? The mileage is BS, although judging by the look of the interior I'd say it's low for a car of it's age. Just not that low. Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm going to try hot water on them crap stickers, I'll let you know how it goes!
supRo
Mate, that 'Split' on the dash isn't that the vent slit for the windscreen and a plastic trim should be there?! Vinyl graphics - use a hairdrier or heat gun. The heat will make the vinyls soft and peel back and try rolling the vinyl off. If there is sticky residue, use a bit of cloth with lighter fluid. I managed to get my graphics very hot with a heat gun but no damage to the paint had occurred.
