terribleturner
Well i have been thinking of selling my R6 lately. First off i wanted something a little faster to compete with the car but could also do with freeing up funds for the single converson. So i was checking out prices last night and thought i'd take a gander at the R1's. And there and behold what do i see?? Only a Virgin R1, the same decals as my R6. So now instaed of selling the bike for the money i may have to spend more to get another one Why do we live in a world meant to upset us (Current bike) I should check my lottery numbers to see if i can do it or not really

Mike
that is one sexy bike.... jeeez! Never been on one, but heard about 'that feeling' a bike gives you and always wanted a go.... although I would be a bit scared of dying I think.. but the power, the speed... If it wasn't for the earache every woman in my family would give me (and there are many)... I would buy one like a shot... perhaps a mid-life crisis is on the cards? JamieP
nice looking r6 james....what year is the r1?
Kip
What about an early R1 - the white and red ones - theyre a reasonable price now - a little twitchy I grant you - still the best looking though. That should free up a couple of quid! Failing that - try an old Kwak 750 turbo - muchos fun.
THE DON
i had an R6 in the same colours on a T reg iv now got an R1 the very first model in candy blue the first model was the fastest model ever built until the 05 mod came out. TBH mate i wouldn't spend anymore money on an R1 there isn't a big noticable difference from the two obviously the R1 has more but is it worth the extra money for how much your gonna notice and use it? iv now got a GSXR 600 selling the R1 to my mate just get yours dynojetted you may be happy with that. terribleturner
The R6 is on a 98 and so is the R1. I always fancied a GSXR750 tbh but because it was in the same design i then had to re think. May pop up to the garage tomorrow to see if i can get a test ride to see how it feels. I also think because i've now had it 2 years i want a change. Oh i don't know. Think i'll get the car sorted first and then see how much change i have left
pulse
I've been kicking around the idea for years of getting a bike. The other day I took my mate's girlfriend's (notice the 's) for a ride Only a 250, but that's all I could get to start with. I still want one, but my girlfriend, and my family, would all nag me to within an inch of my life. I dunno.. So much fun, but so much hassle from everybody else

THE DON
i think the GSXR's are the best looking bikes on the road. i loved my R6 and the R1 but the gixer gets my vote. test rides the only way to make your mind up mate.
JamieP
ive had both 99 and 01 r1......imo the 99 was a far better bike faster and more stable at speed........but both are no match for a gsxr1000:)
THE DON
the gixer 1000 got bike of the year in 01. the first R1 was the best and fastest out them all til the 05 the first ones are getting harder to find now.

terribleturner
Just went to take thee bike out and the bloody battery was dead. Cost £60 for a new one. Also asked how much for a new chain and sprocket set and was told £130, so i booked it in and he went to double check the price. Came out at £198 so hee chucked fitting in for free I've done the ZXR6, and now done the R6. Would like a CBR but just not 100% keen on them, think it may be the gixxer. http://mtxbayarea.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/.pond/honda-cbr600-05-bikepics-392234.jpg.w300h225.jpghttp://insel.heim.at/malediven/350851/History/zx6.JPG http://www.mundofree.com/burnout/penia/motos/gsxr600/140ec4120b11i5.jpghttp://www.yamaha-motor.co.jp/news/2005/09/29/img/yzf-r6_main.jpg
SkyJawa
New R6 looks mental and I love it, but too much of a track orientated bike for my liking. I'm on the lookout for this: http://www.sportmaschinen.de/bikes/2004/kawasaki/zx6r/silver.jpg
