Tom
I wired up for fogs on the facelift lights today the same way as on the previous lights, from searching on here it seemed that you needed a resistor for the fog light mod but mine had been wired before without this, it's really simple and after wiring it the same way all 4 brakes lights are used and the fog's work on both sides perfectly too using the inner part of the brake light. The way it was wired was by cutting the green/white wire on the 3rd of each end light and using a new wire and joining the cut pieces from the bulb together, then the fog light wire simply connecting to one of the green/white wires, and hey presto all done, all you need is some automotive wire clips. Pics attached with more detail.
Guest Garfy
I could be wrong here (it happens often), but was the resistor put in there to make the rear light out warning light on the dash still work (if that makes and sense at all). Tom
It could have been, although no warning light has come up on my dash??
Guest Garfy
I think it just stops it from working, so it never will, but we have 4 rear lights so you are bound to notice a rear light out before they both go, so who cares.

Paul
I did the resistor mod and posted on here ages ago, been fine since doing it and no warning lights. The resistors are pennies from Maplins, soldered in and used heat shrink. Paul

Paul Paul, don't suppose you have a link? I searched for ages last weekend but couldn't find any details for it. Also, should the facelift light have 2 or 4 brake lights as standard? Mine only has 2, I think someone has messed with the 2nd pair to make them fog lights...
Paul
http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=19436&highlight=fogs+diagram Not sure of the original facelift setup but mine has twin brake lights now and two of them revert to permanent on (fogs) when I switch the fog light switch. Looks good and passed the MOT OK.

tDR
It's relays you need, not resistors
Paul
Been there before, I appreciate that there is a relay mod but the resistor mod as per the link worked fine for me:) Been done since that thread and works well, no problems. Paul
