JamieP
one off my mates has a stock mitsi 3000gto.....he did an incredible 11.9- 1/4 last year with a .8-60ft.....is a .8 60ft possible on a stock 4wd or do you think this is a mistake by the timing gear? JohnA
That's good - considering the trap speed that is only
Alex
It's a mistake...sorry - he probably staged too far forward... A full on drag Supra can't manage less than a 1.3sec 60ft...and I've never seen a Skyline run less than a 1.4... EDIT - lol he jumped the gun by 1.3secs!!!! that'll do it (add 1.3secs to his time MINIMUM - more like 1.9secs) GTO's are 14sec cars stock and that would make sense. The little + sign next to the time shows they BOTH jumped the lights.
JamieP
cheers alex..... that makes sense now:) just didnt seem right a 11.9 with such a low terminal
JamieP
ive spoke to a mate who drag races a lot and he said the + does not mean he jumped the start it means he left after the lights

Homer
Stock 3000gt times are (0-60 then 1/4 mile): 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL 8.5 16.4 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 5.3 13.8 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 5.8 14.3 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 5.3 14.0 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 5.7 14.2 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 5.4 13.5 1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 4.8 13.6 I doubt you could shave 1.5-2.5 seconds of a 1/4 mile without some reasonable mods. raymanuk
I did not think the stock GTO's (from what I have driven) any where near the power of a stock Supra. Is he putting race fuel in it?

letmeshowyou
surely a stock clutch would slip to buggery if dumped at 7500rpm!!
Bobbeh
11.9 for a stock GTO is impossible and getting a VR4 into the 11's is incredibly diffuclt anyway according to our friends in the US.
letmeshowyou
so even with sloped tracks they struggle to get into the 11s! a stock one might do an 11.9 1/4 off a cliff...
