rltc problem?

Well, certainly the serial lead and diagnostics plug isn't there, but that shouldn't stop it from working.

The lack of red LED could simply ba a bad connection or blown LED. The only real way to tell is to get someone that's famillier with how RL works to either plug in a laptop and watch what's going on, or drive the car.

Turning the adjuster fully clockwise should set it to it's most sensitive, 'Wet' setting.

thganks. i think it may be working as its not bad out of wet corners on power.a couple of last questions. as unit is connected to ecu injectors would this disable factory unit? and does the standard traction give the distant popping sound when kicking in? i know some traction control is going on

Connecting the RLTC doesn't automatically disable the factory unit, they don't operate the same way.

The standard TC doesn't give you the popping sound but the RLTC can. The standard TC reduces the air supply to the engine and you lose a significant amount of power.

The RLTC works much quicker and often will not give the standard TC a chance to operate .

You should feel the RLTC working when you've got it on the wet setting, but on the dry setting it's not so noticeable.

I switch off the standard traction control everytime I get in the car.

According to the install instructions (on MKIV site) it says remove the old TC unit as it is no longer needed, thus eliminating the need to turn on/off standard TC. I take it that this is a recommendation from MKIV and not on the RL fitting guide ?
