Nic
If anyone has an older Supra, I would definitely recommend fitting a brand new O2 sensor. If you still have the original O2 sensor on your car, it is probably well past its best and could be causing poor fuel economy. I have supplied quite a few of these to members recently, as I can get them at least 30% cheaper including delivery compared to Toyota UK dealer prices. Here is a pic of the O2 sensor, price is £86 including airmail to UK. They are very siimple to install, just a couple of bolts and then plugs into the main wiring loom (bolts can be a bit of a pig if corroded though). GazzaGSi
In my N/a I can get approx 230KM to £30. Think this is around 120 miles? However, I have had abit of a blast since the last £30 put in and I could do with fuelling up again and ive only got to 168KM on the trip. Digsy
Only skim read this. I get about 22 / 24 mog from my NA auto, but I've had it down to 17 if I leave the aircon on.
colsoop
How short are these journeys, does the car get up to operating temperature ? what type of roads are they and how is the traffic ?
lockys96
hmm, my exhaust does smell like petrol, and my fuel consumption has recently become pants, plus from my recent dyno, my car chucks fuel in when second turbo comes in, where others seem like there fuel is gradually increased so are the 2 lamba/O2 sensors
Guest dee_rz
Sounds like your over fuelling somehow get it checked out as within about another month you will lose what you'd spend in someone checking it out in petrol alone.
Guest dee_rz
and yep possible o2 sensor makes the car run ultra rich and damn you lose performance.
Angarak
I was getting an average of 12mpg (TT), since decatting and fitting a new O2 sensor my mpg appears to be a hell of a lot better (until I give it death lol). People who do motorway travel will almost always get better MPG than people who do short urban journeys (sorry if im stating the obvious). lockys96
and perhaps thats also a reason my car still doesnt feel 100% full on. ill just change the o2 sensor
SUPRASUZUKI
26mpg out of a TT during a 400 mile run (75-85mph), 22mpg comuting. If the going's good I'd expect low teens mpg. 57mpg from my Pug 405 na weasel for when the Supra and the wallet are both on empty. 20mpg from the bike whilst on the track. Nathman
My NA is pretty much standard except for an HKS Mushroom (swapping for an Apexi soon) and the worst I have had was about 22 MPG, but if I drive it normally, I am getting around 27 MPG which was a surprise, as I was getting about the same out of my Audi A6 1.8T!
