Jake
I decatted (both cats) a few weeks ago and have been hitting fuel cut ever since. I finally got a TRL VFCC fitted yesterday but the car is still cutting out after a few seconds of high boost (1.2 to 1.25bar). Before I fitted the VFCC the engine warning light would come on at the same time as the engine cut out, but now the light doesn't come on although the power still cuts for a second or two. I'm presuming that the problem before was because I was hitting Fuel Cut and now I'm getting another problem, insufficent fuel supply probably. Does that sound like the most probable reason? So what do I need now, a high flow fuel pump? Anything else? Thanks

Steve Cargill
Have a read through this. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10960 The standard plugs are OK to about 1 bar and normal service is to change them every 60k miles. There have been quite a few threads recently regarding plugs.

Those Denso IK22's sound hard to find, do you know if there is there a more readily available alternative?

Be careful with the clips when taking the cables off - they break easily. BTW, try this thread, called "Denso Iridium Spark Plugs now in stock!" http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11857
Terminator
Talk to Pete you may need to adjust your VFCC.

Pete will probably want to throttle me if I bug him any more! I'll try some cooler plugs and that if that doesn't fix it I'll try cranking the vfcc up a notch or two. and if that doesn't fix things I'll put one of the bloody cats back in, seems like more hassle than it's worth. Steve Cargill
Originally posted by Terminator Talk to Pete you may need to adjust your VFCC. Hi Phil, the VFCC just raises (or removes) the fuel cut. When it does cut it should be just like normal fuel cut, but higher. Having said that mine was boosting to about 20psi at Woodbridge, the cut I thought was just raised to 18psi. One day I'll have a look at the settings and check what it is actually set to. eyefi
secondry fuel cut on the fcd wil feel nothing like a gradual leaning out of the afr from a tired fuel pump. u should do yr plugs anyway.
