Still standard at the moment. I've just painted a set of UK lights, so I'm interested to see what difference that makes.

 

Will be upgrading soon, I'd love a set of HID's, but never seen any on a Supra actually working yet...

I don't really want any more wiring under the bonnet

(and HID is a fair wack TOO)

 

I'm doin' the 'bulb' thang - and I reckon with some UK glass

they would be fairly good.....

 

(I KNOW the lamps are same money as HID, but why have HID

with JAP plastic ? ?

and I think I'm right in saying, the HID is PER bulb-pair ? ?

ie. ~£450 for MAIN / ~£450 for DIP / ~£450 for FOG ? ? ?

and end up with SIX starter/transformers ? ?)

 

I'd like to see HID next to Std'/'Bulbie' though...

when i removed my front bumper i found 2 hid boxes. thing is the lights arent brilliant, is it possible the importer swapped them for ordinary bulbs?

they're not the Crash-Sensors are they ? ?

I'm sure we've got one at each front corner ?

they have hid printed on them, just assumed they were for the lights. yellow and black striped lable

You don't need to worry about Plastic headlamps on the Jap spec as the HID run colder than stock bulbs.

 

I would be wary of higher watt bulbs being used on Jap spec without correct wiring and the heat being looked at.

Possibly, not sure about the compatibility of this though. I heard that there was a problem with HID's passing the SVA test.

I have HID bulbs on the 'crappy' J spec plastic headlamps and I think that they work very well, plus they look cool.

 

They look like normal bulbs, except mine are blue in colour.

 

I would look at them in a bit more detail except my car is still being repaired, should get it back by the end of the week though and will have a look.

 

Just for the record they were already installed on the car when it was imported.

 

My ignition packs are red with yellow label.

thanks, one bulb has blown now so might try to get better ones, the lights are really not good for fast driving at night

I can now supply a HID lamps for the Supra for £280 + VAT a set, just fitted a set to my car and they are sooooooooooo much better than the std items.

 

I'll have some in stock soon.

If they're a bit cheaper I may go H.I.D. MAINS and Funny-Bulb DIPS ??

In my experience once I fitted my 6000K HID kit I never used my main beam, dipped was more than enough. Makes my main beam look like a candle in comparison.

 

So I'd say make the Dip beam HID and main funny bulbs!

Yep, thats the way most people do it, as these are so much cheaper than anything else might as well do both though!

but, my NORMAL dips blind people ! and they're just the 55w YELLOWS ! !

 

and, YES, they ARE set exactly right dip ! ! (set perfect on MOT

tester).

 

when I follow other cars I have to turn the DIP off and drive on

FOGS as they're set even lower ! !

 

it's really the MAINS I want brighter for lanes and PURPOSLY

blinding (when/where necessary:sly: ).
