uneven tyre wear

If it was inner and outside worn or even just middle tread worn it would be down to tyre pressures. But if it's just inside as you say then probably allignment as Terminator suggests.

Strange for rear wheels to loose alignment though.

Have you had any suspension upgrades or increase in wheel diameter etc?

It's normal for the inside edge to wear more due to the camber on the stock alignment settings I think. It's the price you pay for extra grip when cornering. Worth checking alignment if it's really bad though.

Here are the stock alignment settings and some suggested improved ones from mkiv.com.

I'd go with Simon on this one...

MINE were worn on inside edge...

ASFIK if you look at ALL Soops the rears are 'leaning-in' quite a LOT !

(but, perfectly normal !)

as Simon suggests, this is it to allow MUCH better grip on cornering

(that much hyped lateral-G-Level of mkIVs ! !)

Price = inner edge wears first.

(same as inside edge ALWAYS wears first on FWDs fronts ! !)

IF the rear was 'flat' to the road it would give perfect wear... but

LOUSY cornering grip.

........EXPERTS ??????:conf:

cheers for the replies. i was wondering about the angle of the back wheels as like you say they do lean in alot. from your replies i would say it was probably fairly normal though as the rest of the tyre isnt great but i will take it up and get allignment done to be on safe side

cheers ...lee

Yep yep yep,

mine were more worn on the inner edges when i got them replaced so guess it's normal. although it wasn't that much more than the rest of the tyre at the end of their life, so if excessive when down to the wear indicator seek advice from a doctor.
