"Wooshing sound"

I have a 95 Japspec TT 6 speed. Now this may have been happening all the time but it is someting I have only just "noticed".

If I "feather" the go pedal I can hear a distinct and constant "wooshing" noise which disappears when I floor the pedal. Is this to do with turbo wastegates?

Car is running ok and sorry if this question is a time waster. Thanks in advance.

If you have one of the early Blitz SSBOV's, they've been known to fail and dump air under acceleration, rather than after it.

Have a look at the BOV with the engine running, then hold the engine at fairly high revs and see whether the valve is opening - if it is, it shouldn't be!

Worth mentioning that a combination of intake/BOV can cause constant whooshing/sucking/blowing noises anyway though!

Yeah andys Rex sounds like its alive when hes driving about, and hes on stock BOV's.

My HKSSQ seems ok, I guess if the nut is set incorrectly it can cause issues, fortunately none for me so far.

No worries Chris. :)
