merckx
Had a few problems with the pc lately, not being able to copy cd's , shutting down for no reason. Just done a virus scan, turns out I've got the W32/SillyWorm.GK virus. If I do a clean install, formatting the hard disc and installing everything again. Will this remove the virus, feel like doing a clean install anyway to get rid of all the unwanted stuff thats accumulated. Cheers
Bobbeh
Yeah it will, but thats a bit drastic. Do you know when you downloaded it? Ie did it come through an exe or something you downloaded? If you know when you got it you could try doing a windows system restore from the day before.

I've got know idea when it appeared, I didn't have any anti virus software installed until today . I'll try a system restore first. Thanks
