SupraStar 3000
Get home after a shit day to find my stereo only playing the left channel. Check all the leads - fine. Check left speaker on right channel and vice versa. - left channel is out. Check phono leads - Ok Check ear phones - left isn't working. Remove Stereo, remove 1 million screws Cut fingger Bust socket set Take off stereo surround. Removing circuit boards Check for cold solders / bust lines. Check with electric meter All seems ok. Give up, and start putting the thing back together when I discover the left phono jack unpluged on the PC What a toss pot

Jake
I've had a shit day too. Spent all afternoon at my sister's house fixing her PC for free (inc the parts I had to buy) then came home to fix another PC. Got it all done but decided to change the HSF because the fan bearings were a little noisy. Forgot that I'd stroked our dog while unwrapping the heat sink and killed the mobo with static as soon as I put my hand inside the PC. So to replace the motherboard will cost me more than I'm charging the person whose PC it is. :banghead:
Pete
I've never had static kill any PC parts in the 15 years I've been playing with them. How many screws did you have left over Ed?

Jake
I've never had static kill any PC parts in the 15 years I've been playing with them. Well, GO YOU ! (Sorry, bad mood) I've swapped out the RAM, PSU and GFX card for 'known good'. Disconnected the HDDs CD/DVDs and FDDs. Reset the BIOS. What else could it be? It was working fine before I swapped the HS&F Bastard thing. Yeah, but this is Jake.... True.True.
SupraStar 3000
How many screws did you have left over Ed? None Lost one, but found it in the carpet. The socket set had this little ball bearing that stopped the head from falling out. I accidentally unclipped its surround and the bearing shot out inside the case. Just hope it doesn't roll across two contacts
