tbourner
Does anyone know of any good bike forums? Thinking about doing it again, not sure which bike to go for. Been recommended an SV650 after doing DAS - quick enough but not too quick for a new rider.

JohnA
Depends on the bike as well, most have dedicated forums, just like the supra.

tbourner
I've been on ukbikeforum and gbbikers, I'll have a mosey on a few. Can't decide what bike to get after doing DAS. Been told by a few people that the SV650 is a very good starter big bike - but still expensive. Otherwise a VFR400 or CBR400 depending on your size, but I think I'd prefer a 650 or 600 TBH. Nick
I went for the GSX-R600 as a first bike and I'm very happy with the choice. I wouldn't go for a 400 myself, you'll be bored in no time. At the end of the day, you can't go wrong with a CBR6.
tbourner
I'm limited to about £1500 as well, so an SV650 is probably out - maybe a ZZR600 but TBH it's a bit too 'tour'y for me! It needs to be a sport of some kind but not a tourer, and definitely not nude!!
terribleturner
My first bike was a zx6 which i got for £1900 about 3 years ago. They are out there, you just have to keep your eyes peeled. I always used to get Bike trader when looking for a bargain.
tbourner
Seen quite a few ZX6Rs on eBay for around £1500 - usually some 2000 or later models too (the ones with the nicer headlights! ). What's a good mileage to look for on bikes? Is 25k too much? Bit worried about jumping on a Kwaki Ninja straight away though!!
terribleturner
They work on roughly 3K per year i think.
tbourner
Is fuel consumption any good on bikes? I heard they can get 50+ mpg on 600s? I suppose that doesn't hold up to 14k rpm though!!!
terribleturner
I think i can do about 100-120 miles from a tank which costs me £11/12 a time. I'd work it out but i can't be arsed. And that's usually fast riding as i've layed in bed too long

I'm in love with the new shape ZX6R at the moment!! http://nsd.dyndns.org/MC/zx6r.jpg
