TLicense
Lemon juice. A lot cheaper. Stick it in a lemon and leave it overnight.
Rich
Lemon juice. A lot cheaper. Stick it in a lemon and leave it overnight. his car is overfuelling badly on tick over, there was a whistling noise coming from his inlet manifold.when I looked there was a nut missing from the manifold and a gap where the gasket is! his plugs are fouled so thought we would check his 02 sensor to see what thats like. if the inlet manifold is blowing would the fuelling be affected badly? TrickTT
if the inlet manifold is blowing would the fuelling be affected badly? Yes!!!! Stick the O2 sensor in a lemon, or lemon juice, overnight, then clean it with brake cleaner (not brake fluid) to remove any loose carbon deposits and lemon residue. JohnA
Sorry to break the bubble guys, but titania oxygen sensors like this one are like batteries. Once they go due to old age, they go, and it's best to replace them instead of wasting time trying to rejuvinate them. If the problem is due to excessive carbon deposits, then cleaning in a mild acid like lemon juice might help in the short term, but usually it's poisoned deeper than that and it's not worth the aggro. After 50-60K miles they are well past their prime anyway.
