piehound
https://www.medionshop.co.uk/ refurbed from medion , great bit of kit but the software is about 18 month old so dump it and run tom tom which is freely available at all good torrent sites or maybe here you will be wise to get a larger card for it i run a kingston 1 gig which is handy to stick films on when stuck in traffic
LeeT
i could do with one of these. how easy is it to change software over to Tom Tom? im a complete IT numpty.
carl0s
! films when stuck in traffic! You've gotta be having a laugh!! Leet it's quite easy but probably easier to get someone down the pub to do it for you. That's quite a bargain for a suitable PDA and included GPS receiver. Steve W
How do those SatNavPhones work ?? Is the "SatNav" free, or do you have to 'connect' and pay each time ?? Is the CAR one portable ? or does it have to be plugged in (no battery, aerial ??) ?? FatS. [OH, and YEAH...what/how do you put address/postcode/or what in ?? just getting interested in these things if they're gettin' down to SENSIBLE prices:help: ] . . . merckx
Not sure about the Phone satnav. But the one in the link above is totally portable ( you can use it when walking through a town if you like), it's got a built in battery which you can charge up via the mains or cigarette lighter. It's got a built in aerial aswell. All you'll need extra is a sd card to store stuff on, a 256mb one is sufficient if you just want the UK maps. Most of us ( I got one recently) have Tom Tom installed. With TT you can use a full postcode or town, street and number or just point to a place on the map. Very easy to use. Pete
I'm going to check our HP broker who looks after all their exdemo and refurb kit. If they've got nothing similar priced I'll be buying one of those Meridion ones. I have Tom Tom 5.21 UK Plus maps and all West European maps awaiting a home (with silly voice upgrades)
