eyefi
i've done it, just because it's redundant. i don't think anyone (us or jap) will see any real hp gains. the holes left on mine are welded closed.

Terminator
can you provide me some pics or how to do this mod? An ex member of this club and made up some kits to use to fill the voids in the TB created when the butterfly is removed. Simple to fit. The main benifit may be faster spooling as it is restriction in the system removed. AFAIK even with stock TC turned off the is some movement/fluttering of the butterly which does in duce extra turbulance and restrict the air flow in the TB. I have a spare TB with a kit fitted I try to finds it and take a few pics.

Chris Wilson
HKS do / did a kit for this, be careful removing the butterfly screws, thay are soft and either peened over or Loctited.
eyefi
i refuse to accept that anyone has ever actually removed those screws except by drilling

colsoop
I am doing this at the moment just for a little project with an old throttle body i picked up. I just need to get the holes welded up and i can smooth it over then polish it. Its probably a bit further than you were thinking of going but the link is HERE
