New Pads when changing Brake Disks ?

Doughie

Recommended Posts

car being serviced at the mo.

They say i need new front disks (which i knew) AND pads.

pads are fairly new.

Q. Is it necessary to always change pads when stocking new disks on or are Toyota just trying to flog me a set of their pads ?

if i leave the current pads on there (Porterfield R4S), how long will it take before they are fully bedded in to the new disk ?

No way!!!!!!!!

If you know the pads are good then tell them to run and jump. It doesn't matter what pads you use with a new disk as long as they are in good condition.

I wouldn't think it would take that long for the disks to bed in, probably only a couple 100 miles of varied driving.
