RedM
I was about to get into the car this morning and spot someone park across the drive (at about 45 deg. too, I might add). We live above the only shop in our village and consequently get loads of people doing this. However, This morning there was only one car parked in the road with plenty of room to park away from our drive. I signal to the driver that I'll be leaving and can't get out. He backs up just enough for me to get out. Thanks. Now, I like to let the car warm on these mornings so I sit there for about five minutes. The other driver is still poised waiting for me to go. He has to move twice becuase of passing traffic but seems insistent that he is going to park across my drive when I leave. As I back out he is already trying to move forward. I lean out and tell him that he shouldn't be parking across my drive and if he hadn't been so lazy he could have his sodding paper and be halfway home already. He tells me that I am very rude and inconsiderate. I ask him what he'd think if I did the same infront of his drive. He responds with "I hope you never have to have an operation" to which I reply "are you disabled? is that why you need to park so close to the shop?". He stammers and says yes so I ask where his disabled badge is and ask if he can drive okay? He winds his window up and I drive off in a foul mood knowing that he is most probably lying. The worst part is that I felt like I was being hurried off my own driveway! FFS! The thing is it now doesn't matter to me if he has trouble walking or not. I know it should and I should be more compassionate but I have trouble with all the f*cktards in the village who prefer to sit in their cars for minutes at a time just so they can park close to the shop rather than park an extra twenty feet away. I've even been reversing down my drive and had cars come up it. When I've challenged the drivers I've been told "I'm literally just getting a paper". Five minutes later and I'm in the shop, verbally dragging them back to their cars. They are a lazy bunch of a-holes who seem think that that the sun shines out of their proverbials just because you need a few quid to live where we do. F*ck, I am so mad at this. Fuelled by rage indeed.

raymanuk
At the end of the day it is not your duty to provide disabled parking and your drive is your drive. Do something similar to anyones else's drive and they will be just as passionate about blocking their drive as you. If he was disabled he would of proven it. I am sure you would have been more hospitable. I hate it I constantly get mine blocked because they are seeing my neighbour. Why not block my neighbours drive:shrug:? He has room on his for 2 side by side, same as mine but for some reason they still choose to block mine. Get a permit to clamp mate Put signs up and then clamp them and chage £50 to release Harsh maybe but it will work.
Ark
Remote controlled bollards emedded in the driveway. That'll stop 'em driving up your driveway!
Alex
How about asking the police for a couple of NO PARKING cones? Is there a double yellow out front?
China Man
Get a permit to clamp mate I agree with that one. Make sure you have big signs and keep a log of who parks there. I wouldn't ask for any money but just to annoy them enough to think twice to park there. I think you will find a few individuall who will always park at that spot as a habbit. RedM
No parking restrictions of any type. Thing is we rent the flat and as it stood empty for about 10 months I think the village idiots are used to parking how they please. Although we've been there for over a year! To be fair, our landlords (who also own the shop) did put up a sign. Trouble is it is tiny and placed on a bin and no-one reads it. I left my Volvo out in the road for a few days and there was a complaint about it being there. It wasn't blocking anyone or doing anything wrong but they didn't like it there. I explained that it was taxed, insured and MOT'ed and as there were no restrictions on parking I was going to leave it there as long as I wanted. Soon shut up then. They are all t*ssers. RAGE.... jamesmark
i have the same trouble i live in a street that is nowhere near a main roand and EVERY house has a driveway but the lovely social f#ckups accross the road always mount the kirb and park right in fron t of my drive, no matter what way i try and reverse in i have to take two swings to get the angle all the time, once i actually got him and my lovely fiancee challenged him to move and he did 3 foot, it pisses me off too, he has a drive and they fail to use it all the time, he actually used it once or twice last week as someone managed to reverse into him, also the neighbours to the left of me are young and they are the exact same but not blocking me but still parked on the kerb, then there is the ones to the right now those are just total arseholes, but use there drive, but the boyfriend cant grasp the concept of not having his arse hanging over my exit to the drive and if for some reason there is visitors to them and the dght cant get parked she lives up to her reputation of being braindead (i think she only passed as she wore a short skirt and swallowed she is that braindead) she parks on the kerb allowing only small cars to pass between the one from accross the road and hers, and get this the guy has just bought a porsche for 25k and its parked up the side of the house as he cant afford to insure it, thurnscoe is full of imbred braindead people i support redm comments clamp them, can someone tell me if there is a law that says that you cannot park for any length of time on a kerb, there is no parking restrictions

RedM
I always back the Supra out. We have a loose pebble drive. The Supe can spin the wheels very easily. Pebble can be dislodged. Anyone see where I'm going with this?
