The thing is can a main dealership fit these and the lights...I will try get em to do it for free so when i pick it up (if I buy it) they are already on..but can they legally do this and if not are they legal to have on, here and on the Continent?

I know I will get loads of stick..but passive smoking and many other bad habits cause more harm than a set of bullbars surely

Plus they are REALLY anti-social. I mean, how many bulls do you expect to have barge through in this country??? Middle of OZ...yeah OK, but not here please. Just think of the damage you'd cause in a accident - you'd kill someone for certain, rather than just 'probably' with one of those monsters.

(I don't approve of 4x4's, doubly so with bullbars. Could you guess ;) ?)

Am I the only one with the better be him than me kind of thinking ??

Like the fuel issue, use it while it lasts as it will run out anyway, just sooner or later.

Like boycot eating cod, eat it while it is still there :)

I may be selfish but think about it, earth is only so big but human population is in an explosion phase. I can save the world by having only 2 kids instead of 10 :)

You know of course, that a 4x4 will ride clean over the top of a Supra, and destroy the passenger cabin, yes? That means that the other car (us) gets wiped out, and we die, while you have to re-polish your bullbars. Still, better us than you huh? Nice attitute.

Again it is a matter of choice in life. you choose to have a car that can do 150+ mph and yet care about poor pedetrian.

Having a supra doesn't mean you have to drive like a nut at 150+ in a 30 zone and moo over old lady crossing anywhere but the lights or zerba crossing.

Having the 4x4 doesn't mean you have to drive like a nut and cause max damages to other cars or people.

this reminds me of a news headline I read today. School ban meat balls at school lunch because a few kids choke on them in different school.....:ecstatic:

is it the drivng which cause accident or is it the bullbars and is it the meatballs or is it the kid who never taught to chew the food :drown:

People are alway choking on badly cooked meat, thats no biggy.

But bullbars? surely if you don't have them you elimate some chance of killing someone that you run into?

I think bullbars look cool on 4x4's. If you want to elimate killing people then we should not have cars at all.

Cars, 4x4 or any other modes of transport do not kill people. People kill people.

Shall we ban motorbikes too? You are increasing your chances of dying riding one?

Spears would look cool on the front, but the bastards have banned those, too. Can't do anything fun these days. I expect someone will be on here in a minute saying that bull bars significantly increase the chances of killing other people in an accident for an utterly trivial reason. As if looking cool is 'trivial' - pfft.

I am sorry if I have upset anyone, I am a kind and care person really :)

There are different shade of gray and mine is darker than most I guess.

I think 4x4 are cool, very safe for the driver and his or her family unless doing crazy speed and flip and roll.....

Sorry for hijack thread Green peace, I don't know about legal or not but I agree with you as I like them too.

Not being arsey or anything so don't take this the wrong way, just asking to see what your opnion is...

How would you feel if say one of your kids, or say your wife, mum, dad or any close relative got hit by a 4x4 with bull bars on whilst crossing a road and was killed or left disabled, but then you find out that they may have got away with just broken bones if the 4x4 didn't have bull bars?

OK it's the drivers fault as they shouldn't have hit your relative (in this hypothetical case) but are you saying you wouldn't be angry about the fact that they had bull bars fitted?

I would be angry of course. Lost of love ones hurt.

There are lots to blame and it is easy to find a easy way out. I would be more upset if I have ask my wife to fletch something for me "to cross the road" rather than the bullbars for example.

Blame things that would or may not happen if........like ban meat balls at school lunch :)

If my kid choke on meat balls and die I would be angry at it too. I may even start a campain to ban all balls.

I agree guns should be banned, I don't agree bullbars should be illegal, but like I said earlier different shade of gray and mine are a bit darker.

lol I just laughed so much when I got back and read this!

Can we have a vote on it..shall I get bull bars or not..The Colorado looks so puny without them!

Im really keen to hear how socially acceptable they are..I can just see people having a go out me at the lights and stuff, and I have always driven a car that makes friends with others...Bull bars are an agressive looking add on...but they do look well cool.

As for the accident issue...I guess it will be like getting hit round the head with an iron bar rather than an aluminium bar.

I can just picture being at the scene of a road accident with some poor kid now laying in the gutter and blood over the bull bars..and people looking on...with double disgust because i have bull bars, then theres the West End Friends of Ken crew who will attack me!

But then the same can be said about a lot of things that is potentially harmful to others bollox to being PC...Im going to get the biggest pair of Bullbars I can:boxing: :yu:

Fair enough, so essentially what you're saying is that everything's a risk, and say if there was a choice of keep them legal or make them illegal, you'd chose to keep them legal on the basis of them looking cool, or the increase in protection they offer the inhabitants of the vehicle they are on (and the protcetion of the vehicle itself) over the potential reduction in the risk of someone being more seriously injured if they were hit by a car with them on, against being hit by a car without them?

Interesting. (is there a froyd smiley?)

Don't need an essay on it, common sense it is. This country is heading toward the nanny state.

Time should be better spent on education. Not A levels not GCSE but common sense. Drive slow where accident likely to occur, wash your hands after toliet, chew your food ffs......

ban this and ban that...where does it end? Stay at home at all time and that will give you 100% reduction in car accident death rate with or with out bullbars.

shall we move on please?
