CardiffSupra
iv been getting a nasty knocking coming from the front drivers side when i go over a bump, i took it to my local garage and they didnt know what it was. it went for the mot last week and failed(front shock was gone) its all fixed now but the garage still cant find out what the noise is. Anyone? Cheers!
Adam
Check your tyre wall on the inside. Make sure there is no lumps in it because i had this for the past week and couldn`t find anything wrong. Then sat night i got a blow out on the motorway. Luckly not doing any speed. It might not be that but its worth looking just incase.

CardiffSupra
Wouldnt the garage have checked these obvious ones???
D8MOA
poss ball joint! but it depends ive seen sum techs and mot testers not actualy lifting the wheel to check, just actually rocking the wheel!! and the top mounts are harder to find

Terminator
Check your front subframe bolts. Some of the front suspension bolts need to be done up under normal load, ie weight of the car. This means lower ing the car onto blocks to simulate normal loading. If bolts have been done up with the weight of hub and other componants unsupported, the car will make may strange noises. If you do a search there have been several threads over the years covering knocking and creaking FS.
