arnout
I've got a car here with the clifford G4 Concept 300 (Thatcham) Alarm. I've converted it to manual and now when I connect the battery the alarm goes off and doesn't stop. Not by itself, not by the remote control. I want to disarm the alarm first and see if my conversion works, before I'm gonna dig into this wiring loom of the alarm. Anyone know how to disable the alarm? I can pull the connector from the alarm box, but I have to bypass the two ignition cuts (well, one ignition cut and one starter cut). How do I do that? Matt Harwood
Do you have the valet code?
arnout
no I don't. And it's really acting up that alarm. I just wanna disarm it / disconnect it. See if the 6 speed works fine and drive the car to the company who did a very very bad job on building that thing in, and have them fix the alarm. It's a MESS. Wires EVERYWHERE. Relays hanging on tie-wraps. Man, AWEFUL.
far
Dude you can put the alarm in valet mode by pressing the "star" and "headlight" button together - the indicators should flash and the clifford led will remain on constanty to confirm
arnout
doesn't work, the alarm doesn't react to the remote control. I need to solder it through.
Matt Harwood
Before you start making more work for yourself, get the valet code and try that. If you don't have the valet code, PM me and I'll tell you how to get it... If the remotes are not responding, have a look at the aerial. Check it's plugged in at both ends. - I'm sure this is going to be something simple.
arnout
I tried that code. it's a four digit code and you have to type it in in some double switch thingy under the dash.... no nothing happened!!! I've even tried to put the remote control on the main box and press the bottons.. nothing.
Matt Harwood
Without meaning to be insulting, did you enter the valet code correctly? - You muct have the ignition fully on, where the ignition lights are on, then enter the code. (Not too quickly). Failing that, if you really want to disconnect it, PM me and I'll tell you how and where is easiest to bypass the cuts. I assume you've checked all the obvious? - Good battery power? - Starter wires all back on? - Chassis and engine earths all alright?
arnout
yeps I did. I solved the problem anyways. I've cut the wires from the alarm and used two wire connections and hardwired them back to stock. Worked perfectly. The car started immediately. The customer can take his car back to the company who did the build in.
