steve single
Well ,its been a big long debate as to which mods to make to get the best out of your j-spec tt. Lets do a mod list say from 1 to 20 ie your first mods to the last mod you would do. I among every user on this site have a preference, Lets see what different people think:boxing:
Pig
Cant be arsed to say the obvious but would emanage make any difference?
steve single
Suppose so for boost situations and adding fuel under boost. Also to sort idle out running high lift cams i would say. Water injection??
SUPRALOOPY
well the fist thing i'd do is....a search and then go and do it and then enjoy the car, then cry at how much fuel i used and then sell it and start again.... sorry been a bad day :-)
steve single
Well thats no fun is it:) Some people want cams first then intercooler or the other way round you get where i am coming from?

RedM
First fit decent tyres. Then RLTC. Then a new exhaust. Hows that for starters?
hadyn
Yep good rear tyres are essential before you do anything else...
JohnA
You haven't stated your aims clearly enough, so it could be become a question like 'how long is a piece of string' For max reliability, MOT-friendliness and min cost I'd say get rid of the first cat and leave it at that. Still legal, fuelling is within reason, shouldn't even need FCD perhaps plus you get the max bang/buck with your existing intercooling. Plus the fragile turbos won't overspin to death. If reliability and cost are not considerations, then Sky is the limit --- just sell the lot on eBay or here and fit a single!
TLicense
Before you go fast, you need to be able to stop. Brakes and suspension first.
steve single
Ok boys i am not asking the question as what should i do , i am well on my with cams fmic fueling injectors blah blah blah. Clarkey
Before you go fast, you need to be able to stop. Brakes and suspension first. Indeedy! What's the point in making the car faster - when your J-Spec brakes are as useful as a chocolate fireguard ? If you're looking for a more performance and keeping reliability .. then I think that's lot of money. If I wanted max reliability - I think I would just do: a) UK Brakes b) An aftermarket exhaust
steve single
I plan on getting some 6 pots before summer, probably ap or endless! The braking on mine isnt that bad at the mo, i have allround uprated j-spec discs and project mu pads so its not too bad, not good! but not bad. TLicense
Thing is, a bpu supra will easily take you to the naughty side of 140, without really thinking about it. If it all goes wrong at that kind of speed that's when you'll be glad for every penny you've piled into brakes and suspension.

Bobbeh
No need for 6 pots unless you're a track freak or want to show off. The UK specs brakes are great as they are. Anyway, mod wise... nice wheels, exhaust, de-cat and that should see you
steve single
yeah i am looking for the UK spec calipers as we speak.

Bobbeh
Well the only car to outperform the UK brakes in braking tests according to one US magazine source was the Carrera GT with its 20k brake kit, so if you're that worried then go ahead and waste your money... but I guess as its from the US you cant believe the figures Before you think Im saying they're better than 6 pots, I'm not, but like I said earlier unless hes a track racing freak or wants to show off the 4 pots are more than adequate for the Supra. Clarkey
I'd be interested to see how often people replace their UK disks. My front ones have been on 4 months .. and already their warped. My rears are cooked too .. but I knew that anyway and their pretty old! I've not done anything stupid in them ... like Paul Laing .. emergency braking from 100mph - just to test them! JohnA
I've done some kickass stopping tests from 120 to zero and no probs whatsoever. Yours were not fitted properly perhaps or were not bedded in (very important for their lifespan)
