Quick AVCR question?

Ok got my AVCR EBC installed. Gone through the instruction very carefully but just wanted to check something.

I reset the device then went into car setup and set usual 6cyl, 4sp Thr Up. I then went to the main menu and when to [setting A.] and set it to 1.15 and 70 Percent. A graph came up now at this point the instruction said drive the car hard to it got to the boost level. Ok so got onto the road and floor it as soon as the car started boosting (0.2bar) the solenoid starting making like a fast vibrating / popping noise is this normal? does your's make a noise?

Any advice would be must appreciated

Thanks :)

Mine ticks away like nobodies business,I would be able to help further but the car is in my garage which is a good walk from my house otherwise i would be able to tell you more,Mine was set up by a garage in Cardiff though as these are notorious for being a pain in the ass!

Hi mate, mines doesn't make those noises!

Just for your info, my BPU car was setup on a dyno and the gain was set to 52% for 1.2 bar. Obviously all cars are different but it may be worth bearing in mind and try setting the gain to about this level and see if it still makes the noises.

Cheers for that guys it sounds like the noises are normal and it very much depends and how and were you mount the solenoid! I'm going to remount it this weekend. When i've got it all set up i.e. the setting A and setting B how easy is it to switch between the to? and then can you go into monitor mode? Only just started using it really! :) thanks guys

You need to start with the duty cycle low and move it up untill you can reasonably hold boost at your desired level.

I found it best to put the AVCR in self learn mode after this and the AVCR will learn the cars boost pattern and re adjust itself to hold boost better.

You will know when the AVCR has self learned when the duty reads ***

Im single and i ran around 51% duty on 1.3bar. Now its self learned it holds better and adjusts its own duty %

Then after that you can fiddle with the learn gear feature, as in 1st and 2nd i wasnt hitting the target.

You can add or minus duty for each gear if your under/overboosting in a particular gear. Very handy

If all else fails :rtfm:
