Mike
The greatest 'Games' magazine ever has apparently gone into receivership... Well I haven't had copy for January so I called them two weeks ago and they said they had trouble with printers... then just called again, no-one answering, called their head office and was told "oh, yeah they've all been sacked".. nice.. This is a rarity among games magazine.. totally impartial reviews.. unlike stuff like 'Play' and 'XBox' magazine where they are blantently affiliated to whatever console and every release is fantastic.... and Games also had a retro section, talking about Spectrums and the like.... the geek that I am! I'm really going to miss it.... Can anyone recommend an alternative..?

Thankfully RetroGamer is back on the shelves (for us Retro geeks) as there publisher went in to receivership few months ago but they managed to get another publisher. Fingers crossed someone buys GamesTM. Still have Edge to fall back on which is a great mag for the multiformat.
Mike
OK, I was wrong, apparently... just found it in Tesco.... phew... so maybe it's just the subscriptions people that have been given the boot? anyway it's got Animal Crossing on the cover (DS's new 'killer app').. Sorry about the apparent false alarm....
Sherriff
I've found Eurogamer to be a pretty good site, it has good in depth reviews, interviews, previews etc.. Definately worth a look, they don't seem particularly biased towards any one format and often review 'quirky' games which are a bit different from the run of the mill stuff so often released. Cheers, Sherriff
Pete
Never heard of it. I gave up buying mags along time ago when I realised I knew more than the editors. Plus news travels faster on the Internet.
