Bleeping Noise????

Has anyone experienced a strange bleeping noise coming from behind the centre console?

It started off with one beep in a blue moon but now its one per second?????

I thought it was my Alpine head unit which was fitted 12months ago but after removing that and the heater control unit it was still occuring.it happens when the key is turned to accessory and when engine is on too.

I just have to have to stereo on loud at the mo!!!!:(

Mine beeps in reverse with no sensors anywhere.. it's actually kind of annoying.

And my headlights turn themselves off if I turn off the engine and open the driver's door, so no beeps there..

Aside from door open, key-in-ignition, I don't know of any others..

The parking sensor noise I am talking about is separate from the "beep-beep" reverse noise you hear automatically when you place the shifter in Reverse. It varies in beep frequency depending how close you are to something, or not at all if there is nothing around. All this is on top of the reverse beeps... makes for a bleeping headache!! :D

You don't have the alert lit on your dash do you? (the ! inside a red triangle).. if it's none of the above then it sounds like it's trying to warn you of a problem (though I haven't a clue what that problem could be, sorry)..

Speaking of that bloody beeping noise whilst reversing, has anyone started slashing wires in an attempt to stop the car from sounding like a bus.

Is it just a case of cutting the right wire, or does the wire have alternate uses?

I don't have any other beeping noises than the ones mentioned above. Just for the record.

Seriously though, it would be good to find out if all the cars made the reverse beeping. Or only some, and why?

Surely, it wasn't an optional extra?:conf:

It's just a reverse gear reminder.. don't know why only some have it, but it's not a parking sensor.

They're pretty common in asia/india etc in most cars. As for why some don't have it, the answer is actually pretty interesting.

Nah, I'm lying, I haven't got a clue.

Dust the cobwebs!!!

I have this problem, its definitely heater related, my heating knob is redundant, i can only have cold setting, good for now, freeze my nads off in a couple of months.

What d'ya reckon?? switch knackered? it obviously consists of a variable resistor, if that has broke it would cause it to stick to one temp, anyone got any idea's? got told rear stat? where/whats this?
