RobSheffield
why not get one of the importers to look for you? PM Jurgen, he does a fine job! be warned though, the Japanese guys have no concept of running lean, fuelling modifications are not normally done to the highest standard. surely it would be better to get a sensibly modified car, and get one of the UK tuners to convert it properly. yes it may cost more, but i would want it doing properly. Sorry, i do not agree with this statement, i have had many highly tuned cars direct from Japan in the past and ALL have been prepared to the very highest standards. How many UK tuners get an MR2 upto nearly 800BHP (err, name 1)
neo1
If you get a car in and dont Re-Map it correctly for UK octain then yes, i agree it will run lean ! Other than that i think twin 285 l/ph pumps and 1,000 cc injectors with braided lines, swirl pot's, pressure regulators, F-con Gold, etc, etc are not too bad at getting fuel 14 feet from A to B
Guest Terry S
Sorry agree with Rob, maybe you know where to look.

neo1
Sorry agree with Rob, maybe you know where to look. I think you can get lean out issues with any car no matter where it is from or who tunes it..... Good case to promote in car Wideband's
Guest Terry S
Absolutely, but they seem to use a lot of additional injectors.
RobSheffield
As im sure Terry will agree, additional injectors are NOT the way to do it correctly, yes, big power in an MR2 is great, but did you at ANY time wonder why noone else in the UK has done it? maybe because its running critically lean? just because it can be done, doesnt mean its going to work for ever....the Japanese only run there cars for a few years before the Shaken forces them to sell to us, they dont care about longevity. The VAST majority of cars coming over have bodged second injectors, or dodgy ECU choices to 'get by'....not what id want on my car, but each to there own... as an aside, speak to Jurgen like i suggested, he tends to get the cars which may have big power, but are at least done well. Guest Terry S
Dont get me wrong additionals can work, but I dont really want my plenum used for fuel distribution, rather do it the traditional way. I have tried it on a MKIV with mixed results. A lot of my gripe is that they dont seem to strengthen the bottom ends often, even with huge turbos. These are sweeping statements and I am sure they build some great cars as they arent a daft race, only talking from what I have seen. Very definately sweeping, as with mine there are some lovely well engineered and well modified cars coming over.

Yes they are, they've done everything anyone in this country has and more when it comes to car tuning.
Chiefgroover
Yes they do, just a pity most are destroyed with masive gagues all over the cockpit. Boy racer or what?
koolance
ok stupid question here... but where do the additional injectors go ?
Miguel
Depens where they land after they throw em. There are various places from pre- TB in the ic pipe to the outside face of the plenum.
