BigPedro
Hi ppl hope everyones well I'm new to this forum and doubtless this questions been asked many times before but here goes... I'm in the market at the moment for my first Supra and curious about fuel consumption, if I'm looking for better fuel consumption which trans should i go for and why? Cheers
merckx
The manual on the Supra (just like most other cars) will give you better mpg because you've got more gears, but there's not a great difference. Bad is bad though, if you're concerned about mpg then I wouldn't buy one. A NA car with manual gearbox would be best of all!
UltraFlynn
I can easily see single digit mpg on my TT Auto. If I take it really easy then I might get 20mpg. And the answer is .... go single and get better fuel economy!
Matt Harwood
Manual is better undoubtably. I've owned both. With the auto I used to average 18mpg, with the manual I noticed an instant increase to about 23mpg.
imi
20mpg in london is normal for me. this is mainly normal driving with some spirited driving. on the motorways i get high twenties no problem Manual...
UltraFlynn
High twenties is a dream ..... But then I rarely get the Supra on a motorway.
BigPedro
Thanks for the input here ppl like i said silly question! I'm not concerned about mpg like most 3L engines consumptions always high just trying to get as much info as possible. and get the model that will cost me least but have had 300zx and rx7 and need to get supra been fighting it for a while but going to take the plunge
JohnA
The auto will always have worse mpg because of the inherent extra power losses. But you should still get low twenties on motorway driving. I only get below 20mpg when it's stuck above 4Krpm.
imi
I forgot to mention...that mine is also BPU....so its not even standard and still IMO very economical....considering what it is and what it is capable of
