Paul R
Hi, Just got a cheap boost guage to fit to my car and I didnt notice before but I'm not sure what it's reading in?? it says LB/(triangle) at the bottom of the guage. (Triangle) being a pic of a triangle. Would this mean PSI?? Also where do I plumb it into?? can someone send me a pic of a engine bay with the appropriate place circled?? Cheers, Paul. Steve W
should be Pounds per Square Inch (pressure!, psi ) might read 30-0-30 or 15-0-30 or so ? ? (VERY roughly 2-0-2 or 1-0-2 BAR)
Steve W
most plumbed in with a TEE on Inlet Manifold.......

Steve Cargill
lbs is the abbreviation for pounds (weight). Technically the guage should say lbs psi (pounds per square inch). Mine I think is -30 to +30.
Steve W
technically it shouldn't say Pounds or Inches as they're both out-of-date measurements ! ! (over here anyhow!) You're NOT still measuring yer speed in MILES per HOUR, are you ? ?
Paul R
Thanks guys, I'm going to install it this morning. I havent got a pod yet though so the guage is gonna just rest on the dashboard! Anyone know of a suitable cheap one that I can mount on my pillar? A single one would be better as I'm not bothered about any other guages. I dont want to replace my clock either as I find it handy! Paul.
Steve W
WELL, yeah I used to find it handy....... before I started using Full Wack ! ! ! No longer measure me 1/4 in minutes ! ! 400BHP
You may find the boost gauge has mm/hg on it, this is a vacuum scale that is measured in millimeters of mercury.
Steve W
normally the mmHg is on the negative side 'cos your supposed to measure PRESSURE in BAR/psi and VACUUM in mmHg ?
Paul R
Got the gauge fitted, no problem. I'm only getting 10PSI(0.7 bar) though and that doesnt sound a lto to me? Shouldnt I be hetting 12PSI(0.8 bar)?? I'll post another thread on this... "Only hitting 10PSI" Cheers, Paul.

Yep you are correct, positive pressure in lb/in2 and negative pressure in mm/hg
