oilman
Well the redline shockproof is quite different, but if you are using the likes of the Motul Gear300 75w-90 then I would not have said it was any better, just different. Shock proof is very good in straight cut and problematic gearboxes. Cheers Guy
Dan_Turism0
quick question i'm pretty certain this is the same viscosity as the BMW MTF-LT1 stuff - http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-981-fuchs-titan-sintofluid-sae-75w-80-synthetic-manual-transmission-fluid.aspx anyone used or know if this will be fine to use with my V161? oilman
With the Getrag boxes that use the LT1 fluids, the best replacements are good quality ATFs, like the Amsoil ATF, Redline D4, Motul Multi ATF and Millers SPIII
CanisLupus
I got myself the transmax Z for the v160 this should be ok or am i wrong?
oilman
It should be okay, but I can't 100% guarantee it
CanisLupus
Would you rather recommend the Motul Multi ATF then? I'm using the car on track.
oilman
As I know the Motul better and know it meets the specs, I'd be happier recommending that.
CanisLupus
Ok i think i'll go the safe way, sell the Transmax and go for the Motul. Thanks!
Westy
Just looking at your offers and wanted to know which would be best suited to my car: Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5w/40 or Pro S 10W/50!? BPU VVTi 2JZ GTE
Scott
Just looking at your offers and wanted to know which would be best suited to my car: Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5w/40 or Pro S 10W/50!? BPU VVTi 2JZ GTE I was always recommended 10w/50 for BPU and I've always used the pro-s stuff, even when it was silkolene. Has been great for me. I doubt you will go far wrong with either though. oilman
I'd go for a 5w-40 for a BPU, you only really need the 10w-50 in the single turbo conversions. Cheers Tim
James
Anything in particular I should be using for my W58 gearbox? It is mated to a 2JZ-GTE engine running just below BPU. Also, any recommendation on engine oil? Thanks!
oilman
Hi I would use a 5w-40 synthetic in the engine. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XFS, Fuchs Supersyn, Shell Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives. You need a 75w-90 for the gearbox and here are the ones we have. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-90.aspx If you want to go for the best, the Millers CRX 75w-90 NT, Gulf Competition, Motul Gear 300, Redline MT90 and Millers TRX are ideal for the gearbox. The Castrol Universal, Motul Motylgear and Fuchs Gear Syn are all decent alternatives. Cheers Tim

mellonman
what oil should i use for the stock lsd, 75w90 motul 300 ? i see there is a motul 300 ls, also a moly gear. and so many other 75w90 oils i did see that the redline 75w90 is the same as sae 10w40 im abit confused i thought 75w90 was the grade? oilman
The normal Gear 300 will be fine and so would the Redline 75w-90 GL5. Gear oils are rated on a different scale to engine oils to try to avoid confusion, but a 75w-90 gear oil is roughly the same as a 10w-40 engine oil in viscosity terms.
