Brazil
When I replaced my clutch I used Motul Multi ATF 'I think' as recomended from you. When I replaced the oil I noticed that it was much thiner then the oil that was already in the gear box. The gears feel very different now and the gears feel lighter. The oil may feel thinner because it is fresh/unused oil. Your gears would feel a good bit better after getting rid of old gungy oil

oilman
It is a low viscosity oil, thin. This means there is less drag in the gearbox, leading to a lighter/smoother change especially in the cold. Cheers Guy
DuaneT.Turbo
Hey, Im look at changing various oils, i have some Silkoline Pros 5W 40 that had for my DC5, form what i gather this will be ok for the engine? and for the gearbox Motul Multi ATF (http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-906-motul-multi-atf-fluid-for-automatic-transmissions.aspx) The only one im a bit unsure of is the rear diff oil.. i have a 1996 TT Manual Cheers D
oilman
Hi Pro S 5w-40 is ideal for the engine, the Motul Multi ATF is a good choice if it's go the 6 speed box. The diff needs a 75w-90, something like the Redline 75w-90 GL5, Fuchs Syn 5, Motul Gear 300 and Millers CFS NT would be ideal. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-90.aspx Cheers Tim

Cheers D D Hi Thanks for the order. ATFs are thin gear oils, used in a lot of manual gearboxes (Getrag 6 speed in Supras, Skylines etc, BMWs, Fords, and others that I can't remember right now). In most cars, an ATF is the requirement for power steering. Cheers Tim

oilman
I don't think there are any useful codes on that stuff, but if it comes to over £100 it gets free mainland UK shipping.

oilman
Yep, all but the bike oils that will remain Silkolene branded. For now.
CanisLupus
Hi guys would this Diff Oil be good for the LSD on a 6 Speed? Klick Castrol recommends the Castrol SAF-XJ 75W-140 and this one is the replacement for it so i recon it should be ok with this?
Durandal
I'm debating on trying Irving 5w40 ADVANT as an alternative to buying some of the higher quality stuff online.

CanisLupus
But won't do any harm to it? As i've already bought it

Neil-NA
Is Redline shockproof oil any good for the w58 as they do a 75/90 version
oilman
Is the W58 the 5 speed box? If so, yes, you can use the Lightweight Shockproof. Cheers Tim
