james_cbr
what about the slick 50 a good idea ?
oilman
Hi Thanks for the order. Don't use the Slick 50, Fuchs do state that no oil additives should be mixed with any of their oils. Also, we do not advise the use of any oil additives, other than friction modifiers for LSDs. Here's why. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pdfs/tech-articles/Aftermarket-oil-additives.pdf Cheers Tim

Hi Generally, ATFs are red, but the colour is just a dye, so in theory an oil can be any colour. There are a couple of ATFs that are blue and I'm sure someone mentioned an amber coloured one to me the other day. Or it could be that someone has used the wrong oil. MattP
Is this oil ok for my Tiptronic auto box I ask about this specifically because I always use millers oils on the car at the minute http://www.millersoils.co.uk/automotive/tds-automotive.asp?prodsegmentID=435§or=Car

oilman
Hi I would use a really good 5w-40 synthetic in the engine. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Red Line and Gulf Competition. As it's going BPU soon, go for one of those rather than a more basic oil. Although it's a manual, it needs an ATF in the gearbox and due to the required specs I would go for either the Amsoil ATF, Motul Multi ATF, Fuchs ATF4400, Gulf Multi Vehicle ATF, Castrol ATF Multi Vehicle or Millers Millermatic ATF SPIII. Those are good for the PAS as well. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-442-atfs.aspx A 75w-90 GL5 is ideal for the diff. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-90-mtfs-manual-transmission-fluid.aspx The Fuchs Syn 5, Millers CRX, Redline 75w-90 GL5, Motul Gear 300 and Gulf Competition are ideal for the diff. The Fuchs Sintopoid, Castrol Syntrax Longlife, Millers TRX, Motul Motylgear, Mobil SHC and Gulf Syngear are also good choices. The best fluids for the brakes and clutch are the Castrol SRF, Motul RBF660 and Gulf RF1000. The Motul RBF600, Gulf RF800, Millers 300 Plus and Fuchs Pro Race are close to those, but don't have quite as high boiling points. The next step down (in performance terms), but still an upgrade over standard are the Gulf Racing 5.1, Motul DOT 5.1 and Castrol React Performance. Any of the other DOT4 fluids we have are fine to use as a standard choice. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-450-brake-fluid-clutch-fluid.aspx The best coolants are the Motul Inugel Optimal or Fuchs Pro Cool, but the Fuchs ESK, Millers Alpine, Castrol Radicool and Gulf are all fine as cheaper alternatives. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-458-coolant-antifreeze.aspx Cheers Tim

Alex
Fuchs/Silkolene & Motul. Stick to those 2 companies and you can't go too far wrong.

oilman
Hi All the ones I listed as the best options are very good oils, although Motul and Fuchs are possibly the best proven options. We deal with plenty of those gearboxes that use non-Toyota branded oil with no issues at all. Cheers Tim
Alex
What about gearbox some say only genuine toyota true? V160 oil is out of production. If you can find it great...if not use the nominated alternates. You can check with Getrag if you want more reassurance.
