Justin
Me car has always flown off the line and when I use kick down. But recently it seems more sluggish since the colder weather arrived. Does the engine oil (Valvoline 5w50) or ATF fluid get thicker when colder? Could this be why I feel a difference? It's not noticeable enough to strip the engine yet but I'm worried. Especially as I have booked it for a dyno run and am wanting to get in the 12's again at Pod in October. What would you learned folk check/do? Cheers

Doughie
Your car (and any turbocharged car really) should actually feel *quicker* in colder weather due to the denser air (i.e. more oxygen) being sucked into the engine, mixed with a bit ore fuel. Certainly my expereince with my UK-spec manual TT confirmed this. It felt considerably more lively from about October or so when you started getting sub-10 C. days etc. can't imagine thicker engine or gearbox oil would outweigh the effects of denser air being used for combustion. sorry can't help more than that. cheers
Steve W2
Your oil will change viscosity with differing temperatures but all modern oils are designed to operate very well over a reasonable temperature range (including when its cold). I totally agree with Doughie about the the denser air though. You will probably find that the cars runs a little quicker at night as well when the ambient air temp. has cooled down. MONKEYmark
its weird how you can tell small differences in car. when i was a the strip they let you take a passenger down too. the car felt more sluggish then, but when you back in it on your own it seems to fly. been out in car today to bnq looking for some fleible pipe to make a cold air feed, the car felt real good and strong pulling. hold it in 2nd gear with the o/drive button on and get to about 2500 revs then press accelerator hard and it just goes mad and is hitting limiter so quick. you can tell on mine when its cold as it seems to hit 2nd fuel cut limit on early morning when its cold. have you thought about an oil change? for peace of mind. are you sure its not just nerves about getting it on dyno and racing it. what day you all going to santapod. will have to come down for a ride. Justin
I am wearing thick socks actually Termy, those skiing ones Matt - Do need more mods but it ain't that Monkey - It ain't nerves dude! The coolant was below low in the reservoir though??? Sorted with red stuff will see how it runs 2morrow. Oddly there is what sounds like an alarm type buzzer from near the air blower in the dash under max boost. (I haven't got an alarm on my boost gauge) This I remember about a year ago when the car went sluggish before? Maybe that's what a turbo blade sounds like when it's stuck in yer pipe! Oh well. We'll see what appens

I want one cos I like the noise but dont want to lose power. Paul.

I have a "MAX AIR" box fully enclosing my Apexi air filter, It works very well I also have a large hole cut into the inner wing to feed air in from the outside. MVP Motorsports are the distributor for the MAX AIR in the US, check their website for details

It really rather depends on your skills, access to tools and how much of your time your prepared too put into making it to the same level of functionality, fit and finish. Personally I couldn't be arsed with all of that so I bought one
