Isnt there a reason for everything we do? I.e you get on a bus... to go somewhere? You work...To earn money?

Etc...

There must be reason for 'life' ... yes/no?

...oki maybe i was Born to drive a supra :D

To make money to reproduce...then pass on knowledge to further generations....

I've been christened...but I'm an athiest..

I believe Religion was a useful crutch for the age before science. It has no place in the future of humans.

Whilst this may seem extreme, I think we as a race have simply out grown these religion's.

I can't think of a war that hasn't been adversly influenced or started by religious beliefs.

Agree with all that. Your last sentence is a bit squiffy though.

This subject really gets people hot under the collar i find, with most evading the questions posed, or terrified of it, so dismissing it seems easy way to run for most. There is little challenge in life if its a "set your own rules and moral standards" one. If one considers the positive acts of people religiously influenced in the last 4000 years, there is and always will be a place for it.

Perhaps its mans own corruption that makes religion seem so horrid to some, as a church is run by humans therefore as with everything else they are in a position to corrupt it.

On the science front, i am totally opposed to living my life according to a set of THEORIES written by dreamers who cant prove them. Such nonsense is shoved down our throats as "we believe that 9 million years ago this dinosaur was trying to choke this one when it died" shyte. Its the biggest and most poisonous religion on the planet. It runs on the "survival of the fittest" view, the same set of principles that Hitler worshiped and murdered our fellow countrymen in the name of.

Aclu, The humanist association, Sagan, and Asimov want to ban religion, so they can rule with their own religion, science based on theory.

I never fails to make me laugh when some silly TV presenter starts quoting ages in millions of years based on Carbon c14 dating, which has recently be re evaluated and proved to be no more accurate than 2200 years. (yet they preach it to us)

Religon regardles of which major one, gave us laws, standards, marriage, and a meaning to life. Science, preched by the evolution bridgade gives us abortion (murder) pornography (try telling someone who has just been raped or abuse its ok), gays (sorry but I dont condone) lawlessness (due to no moral standards) etc.

I suggest you stick evolution up as a religion, as it the fastest growing one in the world, thats the easiest to follow, you dont even have to get outta your bed on a Sunday morning. It doesnt need martyrs skinned alive and crucified upside down alive etc for declaring their faith. It lets you decide you own rules, standards, and corruption level that you are comfortable with.

This is one messed up world we are in.

Not gonna start arguing anythin that Ernie said, but my dad's Hindu and my mum's a Muslim, the only religion i've ever learnt was Christianity BUT to be honest i don't believe in any religion. Doesn't mean that I believe in evolution either, think you should have Agnostic as a choice too Ray.

One thing though, i really don't follow any religion and i think i do have a high standard of morals etc. I've got a mate who says this is a sub-conscious religious thing, maybe it is but i don't think so.
