Ian W
why would you want to increase the aspect ratio without making the tyre wider?
LeeT
why would you want to increase the aspect ratio without making the tyre wider? the wider the tyre the lower the profile
si wants supra
Good deal on some tyres ? plus the guy at the garage said they only work in these numbers 35 45 55 65 and so on he thought id read the tyre wrong which i hadnt. Does anyone know if they'd fit? cheers
Ian W
doh! yeah, that's what i meant........honest. in short, why do you want to make the aspect ratio higher? am pretty sure they'd fit mate but would make the whole rolling radius of the wheel bigger than it should be.....don't want your fronts to be bigger than your rears! si wants supra
I do have bigger tyres on the back (aspect ratio) think they are a 45 on the back but was a little worried, about when having the car on a full lock turn or underbraking when the nose dips think i'll give them a go cheers for the quick replys Si
wheels-inmotion
I do have bigger tyres on the back (aspect ratio) think they are a 45 on the back but was a little worried, about when having the car on a full lock turn or underbraking when the nose dips think i'll give them a go cheers for the quick replys Si The 'aspect' ratio= the % of the tyres width, the reason the % is different front and rear is that the front 'turns' so there is a need to have a narrower tyre on the front with a higher 'ratio' than the rear so the circumference is nominal, this is quite normal..... move away from the factory % is not wise!... also there are geometry issues here! in the area of centrifugal force albeit small. Dragonlady
If your wanting 45 profile on the front, what size tyres do you have on the rears at the moment?
