hi all!

I’ve just finished putting on my Blitz de-cat pipe (removal of 2nd Cat only) have no other mods apart from a Nur Spec Exhaust.

Been out for a spin and cant seem to see any difference in sound or performance. Is it me or does something else need to be done to unlock the power?????

Was Boosting at stock 0.8 before, I’m still boosting the same after the de cat???

Help anyone!! :( :( :(

If its just the 2nd CAT then i wouldnt expect a massive difference. I replaced both cats first before exhaust and there was a slight difference, put me up to about 0.9 BAR. Get the first one out too :innocent:.

EDITED: Is your exhaust just the Nur backbox or the full Cat Back Nur R

Cheers for the replys guys

Sort of feel ive wasted money as could of spent the same amount on a dowpipe that took both cats out. Oh well. maybe i will take a look around the For Sale/Wanted section uptill one comes up.

My system is the full cat back (not just the backbox)

I don't think second-hand ones are the kind of thing that comes up for sale very often mate. I had one made up and fitted by a local stainless steel exhaust place for £125 inc fitting

Thats a good point, with 2nd cat out and the Nur Spec R system 0.8 BAR seems very low. WOuld have expected 1.0 BAR at least.

Is your Supra UK or JAP?

You're only going to get a boost increase no a Jspec car by taking the cats out. The UKs wastegate can cope with the less restrictive system AFAIK. You're going to need a boost controller of some description. Still should get some benefit though. As for sound, I take it you've taken the baffle out :flame Dev

For anyone in the Dorset/hampshire area having difficulties with getting an MOT you should try a company near Ferndown.

They were excellent with my Rover 220 coupe turbo, and that had a decat pipe in it.

They also do race and rally prepping for cars (as well as their own) and know what they are talking about.

If anyone wants any more details PM me. :sly:

I know people say that they are running 1.2 Bar daily on there cars but is it really okay to do this?

What in all of your epinions is a safe boost pressure to run at using a standard Jap spec GZ TT with only a Nur spec exhaust and both cats removed?

When do you need to start looking at uprated hoses, intercoolers and lower compression pistons, thicker head gaskets etc.?

Obviously I'm a spastic and can't find this out for myself and would relly appreciate some genuine opinions on the matter.

Hey, I'll second that. I've used them and they're good (and cheap too). The guy that runs it is an ex rally driver.

I use my car to commute every day and of course at the weekends (300miles a week). I have a restictor plate to reduce the boost to 18 psi with my gauge warning light set to 17.5 (dunno what that is in metric) I have no cats and a Nur Spec. I thrash my car as mother nature intended me to and often see the red warning light. It has gone up to 19.7 psi on a cold day. I have had the car 2 years. Goes like a dream and got 12.8 on my best Qtr.

Take from that what you will dude.

I take it that the restrictor acts the same as having a boost controller exept that you dont have the variation in boost pressure.

Are there recommended siszes for restrictors to give different boost pressures?

Do you know what HP and torque your pushing out with that setup?

Sorry for all the questions but I am even more impressed at the Soop's capabilites and am thinking about doing this.

P.S There is 14.7 psi to 1 bar so 17.5psi = 1.19 bar, NICE!
