Film recommendation...

Just watched a film that i've not seen before now - some of you may have seen it a while ago as i missed it at the cinema and had to wait for the DVD.

It's 'The Skeleton Key' starring Kate Hudson.

EXCELLENT film. One of the best that i've seen in a very long time - keeps you on the edge of your seat and not for the weak hearted! Hide behind your cushion kinda stuff.

So definately a film recommendation from me and the gf. 5/5.

:respekt:

It's 'OK'

Personally, if you like that sort of thing, Saw 2 and the shit-scary Hostel are far better.

Also:

Aeon Flux - quite good, bit like the island

Serenity - space film, not bad

Jarhead - pretty good war-esque film

The Descent - very good caving film - all goes wrong, weird ending

Bad news bears - very funny film, think mighty-ducks but about baseball and with Billy bob thornton, VERY funny.

memoirs of a geisha- very good topical film

yeah it's good.

bit ghey :D but yeah, good film. Mrs' liked it more than I did, not because of the two blokes but I just thought "another gay cowboy" film, was much better than I anticipated though

Yeah i think i'll enjoy it more than Mike. I want to see Memoirs of Geisha as well cause the book is excellent...

...have you seen many 'gay cowboy' films then? :innocent:

Saw 2 was good - but you kinda knew what was comming, must have just got into The Skeleton Key then, appologies for hyping it but it's worth watching if you've not seen it, you might just get into it like we did. Loved Saw 1 btw when it first came out, because the idea was quite novel.

What's this Hostel all about then, do we need to rent it asap?

people have been puking in the cinemas in the states, I thought it was pretty shocking.

quote "Make no mistake about it, this is a violent, sick, and gory flick. It's not for the squeamish. I haven't seen this type of extreme violence in a North America mainstream cinema. The Takashi Miike, and Asian Cinema influences are clearly seen here.

This is a film that will shock people, and remain in there heads well after the film is over. It will be interesting to see how the film is edited, and rated. In it's current state, I don't see how it could get anything less than the dreaded NC-17 rating. I just hope that it's not butchered too much, as the audience deserves to see the film how it was intended. Eli Roth has completely redeemed himself for what I thought was a very poor film in Cabin Fever, and has made one kick-ass horror film.

I wonder how much it was edited? Sounds excellent, is it out to rent now?

Maybe best if we watch it during the day for my own sanity...

lol - well maybe the unedited version is kicking around as a torrent or something - not that I would condone downloading it - expecially such a high profile film in this day and age.

Does sound good though, sounds like I will have to watch it, if nothing else, just to see what all the fuss is about :)
