TLicense
For some reason, Norton Internet Security Suite 2005 has decided that I should not be allowed to send any e-mails. If I leave it turned on it does not allow me to connect to my mail server. If I turn it off, all's fine. Does anyone know what setting within Norton I need to play with to get it to let me send my porn collection to my friends? Cheers, Tony
Pete
Remove and reinstall. Bad of shite Norton/Symantec product. Get quite a few people call for support on this. Sometimes removing your email settings in Outlook and readding them works too.

Angarak
Tony, Goto the symantec website and search for "outlook" in their support section. There is a download that will reset your firewall rules (but not delete your updates) and will hopefully sort it. A mate of mine has had this, other programs where OK, but Outlook had no chance...even though I manually created a rule to give it access on all ports. Digsy
I had this problem with just Norton Antivirus - let alone Internet Security. It wouldn't allow me to do any POP3 or SMTP transactions at all with e-mai scanner turned on.
Pete
Did you do as I suggested Tony?
Simon
I'm using it without any problems whatsoever
TLicense
Did you do as I suggested Tony? Well I can't. Symantec have stitched it up good and proper. If I remove it, I would need to re-subscribe, which will cost me £25. Oh or I could get some support about their good for feck all programme, which will cost me something like £18, per issue. What a great big load of shite. I've managed to find the file in question. It's currently running. seems to be taking a lot of time. Probably crashed or something. fecking useles. Oh or I could get some support about their good for feck all programme, which will cost me something like £18, per issue. That's terrible! You sure it doesn't retain this information in the registry? I can't see how they'd be able to get away with this.
Digsy
How do you turn just the e-mail scanning off? Can't remember exactly. I'll look tonight. PM me if I forget.
Keith C
It's shite shite shite shite shite. Uninstall it and use AVG anti-virus instead. It's free for personal use too - grab it from http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5
Digsy
Can't remember exactly. I'll look tonight. PM me if I forget. I just click on the Autoprotect icon in the system tray and then the Options tab on the window that appears. E-mail scanning is the second option down on mine. Angarak
Tony, Have a read of this page @ the Symantec Website. Checkout Section 2 where there is a link to a program that will reset your firewall rules.
TLicense
Thanks for the help chaps, I tried all of those to no avail, so have uninstalled it (my machine is running much quicker now!) and installed AVG as per Keith's suggestion. Cheers anyway!
